Vladimir Bobić is a Consultant Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon and the Director and founder of Chester Knee Clinic & Cartilage Repair Centre. The Clinic, founded in 1996, is based at the Grosvenor Nuffield Hospital in Chester where it is recognised as an ISAKOS-approved teaching centre, and at Spire Cheshire Hospital in Stretton (www.kneeclinic.info). The Clinic is a dedicated knee surgery and cartilage repair centre and it provides a unique clinical service exclusively for knees, tailored to each individual patient’s needs. Mr Bobić has over fifteen years of extensive experience in all aspects of knee surgery, including arthroscopic surgery, ligament reconstruction, knee arthroplasty, and particularly in articular cartilage repair. Mr Bobić is the founder of the Liverpool Knee Service and a former full-time NHS knee surgeon at The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals, Liverpool (1996 to 2002). He also specializes in medico-legal aspects of knee injuries.
Mr Bobić is an internationally recognised expert and one of the UK’s clinical pioneers in knee articular cartilage repair. He is the inventor and instrument designer of Arthrex OATS (Osteochondral Autograft Transfer System) articular cartilage repair technology. He performed the first ACI (Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation) in the North West of England in 1998, and continues to perform a wide range of cartilage repair procedures in Chester, including OATS, AMIC and ACI (TiGenix CCI) surgery, on a regular basis.
